Original description

Synonyms

Euderomphale fuscipennis Girault, 1916.

Diagnosis

Very similar to flavimedia, the major difference being the strongly enlarged male scape and the strong longitudinal grooves on the outer surface of male scape in sulciscapus (see Fig. ) (flavimedia with male scape similar to female scape, i.e. narrow and without grooves. The females of sulciscapus and flavimedia are more difficult to separate, a tentative difference is the colour of the pedicel, pale in flavimedia and dark in sulciscapus. However, there tends to be some variation in this character in flavimedia, from white to dark brown (see above), hence it has to be used with caution.

Distribution

Costa Rica, Cuba, USA, the West Indies.

Biology

Parasitoid on Aleyrodes spp. (Hemiptera: Aleyrodidae).
